One of our key objectives is to work closely with representatives from government, education and health, business and other charities to achieve a more cohesive approach to health education.
Government
"We welcome the important contribution of the voluntary sector to drug education in schools. Outside expertise, when it is well integrated into a school’s existing programme can enhance the learning opportunities for pupils and I know primary schools really enjoy the Life Education experience"
Ivan Lewis MP
Parliamentary Under-Secretary for State for Young People and Adult Skills.
Education
"Life Education plays an intrinsic part in our health and drug education programmes. We make sure that every child and every parent has access to it. We need to increase our support from agencies like them and to encourage community partnerships. Children do learn with Life Education but the messages from home, school, the local community and government have to be consistent in order to be effective"
Diane Von Kesmark, Head-Teacher
St Cuthbert’s with St Mathias Primary School, Earls Court London
Health
Earlier this year the Doctor Patient Partnership’s ‘Making Sense of Health’ team worked with us on a major House of Commons event to highlight the important role of partnerships in encouraging and supporting families and the community to work together to achieve healthier lifestyles. We brought together representatives from across the community, including health and education, charities and business. Baroness Massey, Head of the National Treatment Agency and Lord Robert Winston were among the key speakers.
"I would like to commend Life Education’s work and I firmly believe that it is only by working together through community partnerships such as these that we can find the key to influencing healthy behaviour"
Baroness Massey
" We need to make children more cognisant of, and able to reach out and react to the environment around them. That’s why Life Education Centre’s approach is tremendously welcome"
Professor (Lord) Robert Winston
