Working in the community
Life Education Centres work with local communities that want a drug prevention programme for their young people. We provide inspirational and memorable learning experiences for children and young people from 3 to 15.
Our education programmes are delivered using highly trained educators working in a mobile classroom environment. These hi-tech classrooms provide a unique learning environment for up to 30 children, who visit along with their teacher. The classrooms are equipped with audio-visual materials, interactive models (including a talking brain!) and Harold our singing Giraffe puppet.
There are currently mobile classrooms operating throughout the UK, working with about 1 million children a year. Each classroom is funded, owned and run by a local group. Local fund raising groups are normally volunteers, many with expertise in business, education or social welfare. As part of the local community, LEC becomes integrated into the life of every child who has been given the chance to participate in a mobile classroom.
