Corporate Development Manager
Reference: LE/CDM
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Location: Hatton Garden, London
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Closing Date: February 28th 2005

Life Education Centres is seeking an experienced Corporate Development Manager, with strong media skills, to raise significant funds from the corporate sector and help raise the charity’s profile.

The charity is the largest of its kind, working in primary schools and building partnerships with the community as a whole, to support and promote recognised best practice in health education.  Our programmes in over 3,000 primary schools up and down the country reach more than 800,000 children and their parents every year. These programmes are designed to generate positive attitudes towards health, build self-awareness and equip children with the skills necessary to develop a healthy life-style.

With children's health education being a major topic of political and public debate, the charity's strategic objective is to reach more than 2 million children a year by 2008, and increasing public awareness and income will be crucial to achieve this objective.

Corporate partnerships are already delivering new sources of funding and awareness-generating opportunities for the charity, with major companies already expressing an interest in supporting our work. The charity now wishes to capitalise on this trend by appointing a media-aware Corporate Development Manager to raise significant funds from companies and strengthen its profile amongst a range of target audiences.

Ideal candidates for this role will have demonstrable experience of creating corporate partnerships worth in excess of £25,000 each through a variety of techniques such as; sponsorship, cause marketing, 'charity of the year' status and philanthropic giving.  Additionally, they will convince us of their ability to generate media interest in the activities of such partnerships and the work of the charity in general.  The position reports directly to the Chief Executive and will suit a creative self-starter that would relish the autonomy and opportunities presented by this exciting new role.
